Decentralized Document Verification Protocol
Groth16 · BN254 · Poseidon-128 · Solana
"Prove Everything. Reveal Nothing."
ZK-Provenance is a decentralized document verification and attestation protocol built on Solana. It combines Zero-Knowledge cryptography (Groth16/BN254), a community-driven verification network, and the $ZKPV utility token to create a trustless, privacy-preserving alternative to traditional notarization and KYC systems.
The protocol enables any individual or organization to prove the authenticity of a document without revealing its contents — verified by a decentralized network of staked verifiers and anchored permanently on-chain.
Trust is Broken.
1.1 The Digital Verification Crisis
The world generates over 120 zettabytes of data annually. Yet verifying the authenticity of any document — a diploma, a contract, an ID, an audit report — still relies on physical notarization, centralized KYC providers, or email attachments with zero tamper-proof guarantees.
1.2 The Privacy Paradox
Current verification systems force a fundamental tradeoff:
1.3 Market Scale
| Segment | Market Size | CAGR |

| Global Notarization | $15.2B | 12% |
| KYC/AML Compliance | $19.8B | 25% |
| Document Management | $6.7B | 11% |
| DeFi Identity | $4.1B | 67% |
| Total Addressable Market | $45.8B | — |

2.1 Three-Layer Architecture
ZK-Provenance introduces a three-layer verification stack — each layer adding a distinct dimension of trust:
$ZKPV Token Economy
Incentive alignment — rewards honest verifiers, slashes bad actors
Community Verifier Network
Human + AI verification — 3-of-3 consensus, staked reputation
ZK Cryptographic Proof
Mathematical certainty — Groth16 on BN254, 288 bytes, <1ms verify
Cryptographic Core
3.1 ZK Proof System
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Proving System | Groth16 |
| Elliptic Curve | BN254 (alt_bn128) |
| Hash Function | Poseidon-128 |
| Merkle Tree Depth | 8 (256 leaves) |
| Constraints | ~50,000 |
| Proof Size | 288 bytes |
| Verification Time | <1ms on Solana |
| Proving Time | 1,500–3,000ms (browser) |
| Cost per Proof | $0.0001 |
3.2 Poseidon Hash Function
ZK-Provenance uses Poseidon-128 — a ZK-friendly hash function designed for arithmetic circuits. Unlike SHA-256, Poseidon has minimal constraints in R1CS representation:
3.3 Groth16 Circuit
3.4 Solana Anchor Program
Two-Layer Trust
4.1 Layer A — Automated API Verification
| Provider | Coverage | Document Types |
|---|---|---|
| Onfido | 195 countries | Passport, Driver's License, ID |
| Jumio | Global | ID, Selfie liveness detection |
| Stripe Identity | US, EU | Government ID |
| Digio | India, SEA | Aadhaar, PAN, GST |
| Signzy | India, SEA | ID, Bank statements |
4.2 Layer B — Community Verifier Network
For documents APIs cannot verify (contracts, research papers, audit reports), the Community Verifier Network provides human + AI verification:
Who Needs This
⚠ DeFi loans require 150%+ collateral. Real-world creditworthiness cannot be proven on-chain.
✓ Borrower proves wallet holds >$50K for 6+ months, no liquidations — without revealing wallet address. Protocol offers undercollateralized loans based on ZK proof.
⚠ Hiring across borders requires sharing sensitive credentials with multiple parties globally.
✓ Candidate proves degree, years of experience, salary range — employer verifies instantly without accessing actual documents.
⚠ Companies must prove ethical sourcing but cannot reveal supplier identities (competitive advantage).
✓ Manufacturer proves fair-trade certification, emissions below threshold — without exposing supplier list.
⚠ Medical researchers need large datasets but HIPAA/GDPR restrict sharing. $45B market blocked.
✓ Hospital proves dataset properties (size, demographics) — researcher accesses proof without any PII.
⚠ Financial institutions spend $270B annually on compliance. Audits are manual and expose confidential data.
✓ Institution proves AML checks, KYC completion to regulator — on-chain in minutes, no transaction data exposed.

Why We Win
| Protocol | Chain | ZK Proofs | Verifiers | Token | Fair Launch |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ZK-Provenance | Solana | YES | YES | YES | 100% |
| Worldcoin | Ethereum | YES | Orb only | YES | NO |
| Polygon ID | Polygon | YES | NO | NO | N/A |
| Civic | Solana | NO | NO | YES | NO |
| Notarize.com | Web2 | NO | Manual | NO | N/A |
ZK-Provenance unique advantages: Only protocol combining ZK proofs + human verifiers + token incentives. Solana-native (fastest, cheapest). No hardware required (unlike Worldcoin Orb). 100% fair launch (no VC dump risk).

Honest Assessment
Groth16 requires trusted setup ceremony. Mitigated by public Powers of Tau (Hermez). Formal circuit verification planned Q3 2026. Post-quantum migration path via STARKs.
Enterprise sales cycles are long (6-18 months). Mitigation: target crypto-native companies first for faster adoption cycles. Community verifiers provide organic growth.
ZK proofs not yet legally recognized in most jurisdictions. Positioned as supplementary evidence layer, not primary legal instrument. Monitoring EU eIDAS 2.0 framework.
$ZKPV price volatility may affect verifier incentives. USD-denominated reward floors during early network phase. Fair launch model reduces centralization risk.
The Trust Layer
ZK-Provenance is building the trust layer for the internet — a protocol where anything can be verified without anything being revealed.
The combination of Groth16 ZK proofs (mathematical certainty), Community Verification Network (human trust), and $ZKPV token economy (aligned incentives) creates a system more secure, more private, and more accessible than any existing verification solution.
